2025 weekly lesson rates: In-person/online private lessons*: $100 for 60 minutes $75 for 45 minutes $50 for 30 minutes Group classes $50 per person for 60 minute class, $25 per person for 30 minute class. Lessons are usually held once a week, and are paid by e-transfer, cash, cheque, or credit card. *If the lessons are at your home there is a travel fee - please contact me for the details, as this varies per neighbourhood.

While having your own harp is a definite bonus, it's not required for the introductory program, after which you should have a better idea of your harp goals and preferred styles of music. No need to wait if you're keen though, contact me and I'd be happy to offer some suggestions to help you either rent or buy a harp to match your needs and interests.

Anything new comes with a learning curve, but it's easy to love playing the harp at any level. I encourage all my students to make the most of whatever stage they happen to be at, and to get involved in the different programs (lessons, harp ensemble, performance class) right from the beginning. The greater the focus and effort you put in to your time at the harp, the greater the reward, and the more fun the whole process will be.

Absolutely not! While it may be a little late to start a career as an orchestral harpist in your 90s, it can still be a lot of fun to learn, and there are a lot of benefits and advantages to learning the harp at any age. Roughly half of our harp students are adults, and they are a valued and vibrant part of the VHA.

The VHA teaches students from the age of three and up. Generally speaking, when there is an interest in the harp that is the best time to learn - at whatever age that interest appears.
